Margo Long

Boy mom x3 | educator | farmer’s wife | blissfully brave

Margo Long is an Ohio State Extension Educator in 4-H Youth Development with a focus on empowering Marion County youth to become positive catalysts in their communities and revealing the endless possibilities with a career in STEM.

She grew up spending time in both western Pennsylvania and northeast Ohio. Being a 4-H member for more than 10 years inspired her love for agriculture and positive youth development. It wasn’t until she worked as an Extension professional in northeast Indiana when she found an interest in introducing young people to STEM careers through hands-on learning activities.

She has a strong belief in Extension and its purpose to integrate research into our daily lives and to help solve today’s challenges for a better future.

Margo received her bachelor’s degree in agricultural communication from Ohio State University and a master’s degree in agricultural education from Oklahoma State University. She is currently a Ph.D. student within Ohio State’s Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership.
